Postdocs

I don’t currently have funding for a postdoc. However, I’m willing to work on funding applications with strong candidates. There are some internal funding opportunities at the University of Utah: Wilkes Center Postdoctoral Program (deadlines in January) and the One-U Responsible AI Postdoctoral Fellowship (deadline in April). However, most funding opportunities will be external, through the NSF, NIH, and various foundations.

PhD Students

I have funding for one or more graduate students to start in Fall 2027 (Dec 2026 application cycle). I accept students through the Department of Anthropology at the University of Utah.

Undergraduates

I often have opportunities for undergraduates to conduct research in the lab. Most students are funded through the UROP Program, but you don’t have to be funded to start. Email me to schedule a meeting where we can talk about projects, funding, and how to get started.
